Understanding the report tracking deadline

Law No. 14.457/2022 reinforces the importance of having reporting channels and tracking mechanisms. To support good governance and case management practices, Sigilo adopts a 30-day reference deadline for handling reports.

⏱️

Purpose of the 30-day deadline

  • Encourage timely responses.
  • Provide predictability for tracking.
  • Help companies monitor pending items.
  • Improve report management.

Deadline cycle

📩

Report opened

The reporter submits the account through the company's channel.

Countdown starts

The 30-day counter starts automatically. It is visible on the manager's dashboard and on the tracking screen.
📅

30 days

Reference deadline for managers to review and respond to the report.

Report resolved

Managers close the report within the deadline.
⚠️When the deadline is exceeded, the report remains open but is flagged as "overdue" to make it easier for managers to track.

Deadline alerts

The system sends automatic email alerts to managers throughout the cycle:

🔔

Day 23 — D-7 alert

Reminder sent 7 days before the due date so managers can prioritize the report.
🔔

Day 29 — D-1 alert

Final alert, 1 day before the deadline. Signals urgency to avoid delays.

Day 30 — Deadline reached

If the report is not closed, it is flagged as "overdue".

Exceeding the deadline does not close the report

A report flagged as "overdue" remains active and can still receive updates, responses, and actions from managers until it is concluded.

What this means for the reporter

💚

The deadline helps ensure reports receive proper follow-up. Even when the deadline is exceeded, the report continues to be reviewed until it is concluded.
